NEW GARIOCH OAT BREAD CREATED FOR DIABETES RESEARCH
Together with Macphies of Glenbervie (Stonehaven), JG Ross have created an oat bread for the University of Aberdeen Rowett Institute of Nutrition & Health current type 2 diabetes study. With the help of volunteer diabetic men and women the Rowett researchers want to see if healthy eating and a diet rich in oat products can improve blood sugar control in diabetics following a meal.
The Garioch Oat Bread has been a huge success since its launch on the 25th of August with demand for the bread coming from all over Scotland. The bread has also featured extensively in a number of newspaper articles and on TV. The production of our Garioch Oat Bread will also soon be featured on the BBC's Landward programme.
Garioch Oat Bread is now available from all JG Ross and Forrest The Baker shops. It is also available from McLeish stores throughout the North East of Scotland, selected Scottish Co-ops and from November 10th 2008 selected Somerfield stores in Aberdeenshire.
